Happy New Year from ADJ!

I am not a New Year’s resolution kind of woman. If something needs to be done, the best time is now; no need to wait for the New Year to do what you can do today.
At the same time, if you have miscellaneous projects sitting around and “now” happens to coincide with the New Year, there is no better time to get your year off on the right foot. So while you’re adding things like “lose 10 pounds” or “get more organized” to your resolution list, add on a few of my resolutions below to take your business communications to the next level.
Ramp up your website If you don’t have one, get one. Websites like Just Host, Intuit and many more offer plans for less than five bucks a month so you have no excuse in 2011 for not having an online presence. If you have one, but aren’t sure that it is getting the right message across to potential customers, now is the time to take a look at making the necessary changes to put forth clear and effective communication.
Strengthen your social media presence If you’re that person sitting around saying “I don’t have time for Facebook or twitter”-stop it. While you don’t have time, the companies that do have time are scooping up your potential clients. Spend some time this year working on your social media strategy so that you don’t end up too far behind the pack in using this powerful marketing tool.
Get some printed material If you think that web marketing has taken away the need for printed material, think again. Print marketing, brochures, mailings etc., is still important an important piece of your total marketing strategy. If you don’t have printed material, figure out what type of print marketing your business needs this year and put a plan into action to get some of those materials printed.
Happy New Year! What communications resolutions does your business plan to make for 2011?
